About the Friendship Calculator
The Friendship Calculator uses the same name-based formula as our love tools, with a +5 adjustment and its own friendship labels, from "Inseparable Friends" down to "Challenging Path". It is made for best friends, siblings, cousins and classmates rather than couples. Because nobody has to answer questions, you can score a whole friend group in a couple of minutes and compare the pairs. The result reflects only the letters you type; it knows nothing about the years, favours and late-night calls that make a friendship real.

Scoring a Whole Friend Group
A group of four friends has six possible pairs, and a group of five has ten. Write the names in a list, score each pair once in the same order (for example, alphabetical) and note the results. Keeping the order fixed matters, because swapping the two names can change the score.
Groups often turn the results into a small game on Friendship Day or in a class WhatsApp group: the top pair gets bragging rights and the lowest pair plans the next outing. It works best when everyone knows the scores come from the spelling of names, so nobody feels judged.

- Both names are joined in the order you typed them, spaces are removed and the text is lower-cased. We take the CRC32 checksum of that text (a standard way of turning text into a number), then base score = (checksum mod 86) + 15, which always lands between 15 and 100. The Friendship Calculator then adds +5, so results run from 20 to 100. Labels: 90+ "Inseparable Friends", 75+ "Strong Bond", 60+ "Good Friends", 45+ "Needs Effort", below 45 "Challenging Path".

- "Rahul" + "Priya" always gives 85% (Friendship: Strong Bond). Typed the other way round, "Priya" + "Rahul" gives 59%.
- What it can't tell you
- A name checksum says nothing about a real friendship. Swapping the names can change the score.
