About the Love Calculator
The Love Calculator is the simplest tool on LoveChecker: two names in, one percentage out. It does not ask for birth dates, signs or answers, so it works for a partner, a crush or a celebrity couple you are curious about. The score comes from a fixed formula, which means the same two names always give the same number, while a different spelling or order gives a new one. Most people use it as an icebreaker: share the number, laugh about it, then talk about what really makes the two of you click.
Love Calculator Examples You Can Check
- "Aarav" + "Ananya" gives 76% — Strong Match
- "Vikram" + "Sneha" gives 81% — Strong Match
- "Kabir" + "Meera" gives 39% — Challenging Path
What Each Love Calculator Result Means
| Score | Result |
|---|---|
| 90–100% | Soulmate Connection |
| 75–89% | Strong Match |
| 60–74% | Good Chemistry |
| 45–59% | Needs Effort |
| Below 45% | Challenging Path |
Getting a Fair Comparison From the Love Calculator
Because the score depends on the exact text you type, small changes matter. "Priya" and "Priya Sharma" are different inputs, and so are "Rahul + Priya" and "Priya + Rahul". If you want to compare several couples, choose one rule first, such as first names only, spelled the way each person spells them, and use it for every pair.
Try both orders as well. Many friends test the names each way round and keep the higher score, which is a harmless way to tease each other. When you compare your score with a friend's, check that you both typed the names the same way; otherwise the two numbers are not comparable.
How the Result Is Calculated
- What it uses
- The two names only.
- The exact method
- Both names are joined in the order you typed them, spaces are removed and the text is lower-cased. We take the CRC32 checksum of that text (a standard way of turning text into a number), then base score = (checksum mod 86) + 15, which always lands between 15 and 100. The Love Calculator uses this score as it is, so results run from 15 to 100. Labels: 90+ "Soulmate Connection", 75+ "Strong Match", 60+ "Good Chemistry", 45+ "Needs Effort", below 45 "Challenging Path".
- Example you can reproduce
- "Rahul" + "Priya" always gives 80% (Love: Strong Match). Typed the other way round, "Priya" + "Rahul" gives 54%.
- What it can't tell you
- Names cannot measure love. Swapping the order of the names, adding a surname or changing spelling gives a different score.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does the Love Calculator work?
It turns the two names into a checksum (a fixed number calculated from the text) and maps that to a love percentage between 15 and 100. The full method and a worked example are shown on this page and under every result. The same names always return the same result, so it is consistent and repeatable.
Is the love percentage accurate?
No. A score made from the letters of two names cannot measure a relationship. Genuine compatibility comes from communication, trust and shared values, not a name-based score.
Is the Love Calculator free?
Yes, completely free. There is no sign-up, no payment and no limit on how many times you can use it.
Does the other person need to be there to use it?
No, you only need two names to get a result, and nobody is contacted or notified. It is a light-hearted score, so it is most fun when you try it together or share the result with them afterwards.
