Privacy Policy

We only collect what we need to run our tools and your account:

• Information you type into our tools — names, dates of birth, zodiac signs, a relationship start date, mobile numbers (Mobile Number Match only), quiz and game answers, and free text such as a question for Ask Cupid or a memory for the Love Letter Generator. Section 2 explains exactly what happens to each.
• Contact form messages — your name, email address, subject and message.
• Account information — if you create an account, your name, email and a securely hashed password, plus any optional profile details you add (such as date of birth or zodiac sign).
• Technical information — your IP address is recorded with each saved tool result and contact message to help prevent abuse (Mobile Number Match results are never saved, so no IP is recorded for them). Our hosting provider may also keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) to keep the site running securely.
• Cookie and analytics information — collected by Google Analytics and Google AdSense, as described in Section 4.

Our tools are not calculated only inside your browser. When you press a calculate, generate or submit button, the details are sent securely to our server, which works out your result. Here is what we keep:

• Saved with your result — for calculators, generators, quizzes and the two-player game, we store a result record in our database. Depending on the tool, it can include the names you entered (or "Guest"), dates of birth, zodiac signs, the score and result text, the date and time, your IP address, and your account ID if you are logged in. The result text can include things you typed — for example your Ask Cupid question, or the memory you added to a love letter — and, for the two-player game, the answers each player picked. Quizzes store only the outcome (your score and result type), not your individual answers.
• Mobile numbers — Mobile Number Match works the score out in your browser: the two numbers are not sent to our server, not stored, not put in any link and not shared with anyone. If JavaScript is switched off, the numbers are sent to our server once to calculate the score and then discarded; nothing is saved in our database and no result record or share link is created.
• Not in web addresses — tool details are sent in the form submission, not in the page URL. Share links contain only a random code, not your names or dates.
• Not sent to analytics or advertisers — our analytics events record which kind of tool was used (for example "calculator submitted") and the page address. They do not include the names, dates, numbers or text you type into our tools. One exception: if you use the site search box, your search words appear in the page address of the results page, so they are included in the normal analytics record of pages viewed.

Please only enter details about other people with respect and with their consent, and avoid entering anything you would not want stored.

• To run our love calculators, compatibility tests, quizzes, FLAMES, and astrology tools — and to generate your results.
• To create share links for your results and to show your past results when you are logged in.
• To respond to your questions and support requests.
• To maintain security, prevent abuse, and improve our platform.
• To measure site usage and show advertising that keeps LoveChecker free (see Section 4).

LoveChecker itself sets only one cookie: an essential session cookie that keeps you logged in and protects our forms against cross-site request forgery (CSRF). It is created when you open a page with a form (our tools, contact and login pages) or log in. In addition, the Google services below set their own analytics and advertising cookies — so the site as a whole does use non-essential cookies. See our Cookie Policy for details.

Advertising (Google AdSense). LoveChecker is free because we show ads served by Google AdSense:

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visits to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.
• Google's advertising cookies include the DoubleClick cookie, which Google uses across its advertising network. You can turn off personalised ads that use it in Google Ads Settings.
• Personalised ads are chosen using information such as your previous browsing activity. Non-personalised ads are chosen using contextual information, such as the page you are viewing and your general (city-level) location, and do not use your past browsing. Google may still use cookies for non-personalised ads, for example to limit how often you see an ad, to report on ads and to combat fraud and abuse.
• You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info (or youronlinechoices.eu in Europe).

Consent. Where the law requires it — for example for visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland — Google's consent message asks for your choice before personalised ads are shown. You can change that choice at any time with the Privacy Settings link in our footer. For those visitors, our site also tells Google’s tags (analytics and ads) to start with advertising and analytics storage switched off (Google “consent mode”) until a choice is made, and then to follow that choice.

Analytics (Google Analytics). We use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to understand in aggregate which pages and tools are popular so we can improve the site. It collects information such as pages visited, device and browser type, and approximate location. You can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

We only share information where it is genuinely required to operate the service — with our hosting provider, with our email provider (to deliver contact-form messages and replies), and with Google for the advertising and analytics described above — or where we are legally required to do so.

When you get a result, we create a share link containing a long random code. Anyone who has that link can open the result page and see what it shows — which can include the names you entered, the score, and text such as an Ask Cupid question or a love letter. Share pages are hidden from search engines, but please only share links with people you trust.

• Tool results (and their share links) are kept in our database. There is currently no automatic deletion schedule, so they stay until they are deleted.
• Logged-in users can delete saved results at any time from their dashboard.
• Guests can ask us to delete a result by contacting us with its share link.
• Accounts and contact messages are kept while your account is active or until we no longer need them to handle your request. You can ask us to delete your account and its data at any time.

We take reasonable, modern measures to protect your data:

• Hashed passwords — account passwords are stored using bcrypt, never in plain text.
• CSRF protection — all forms are guarded with security tokens.
• Safe database access — every query uses prepared statements to guard against injection attacks.

LoveChecker is meant for users aged 18 and over. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, anyone under 18 is a child, so if you are under 18 you may use LoveChecker only with the permission of a parent or guardian, and you should not create an account or send us personal details without that permission. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without that consent. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will remove it.

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, including tool results linked to you. Logged-in users can update most details from their profile and remove results from their dashboard. For anything else, contact us or email support@lovechecker.in.

Visitors in India. We are based in India, and India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 gives individuals rights over their personal data, including to obtain a summary of the data processed about them, to have it corrected, completed, updated or erased, to withdraw consent, to have grievances addressed, and to nominate another person to exercise these rights. To make any of these requests, or to raise a grievance about how we handle your data, email support@lovechecker.in with the subject “Privacy request”. We will reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India once it is accepting complaints.

Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland (GDPR). You have the right to access, correct or erase your personal data, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive a copy in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time. We use account and saved-result data to provide the tools you ask for, contact messages to reply to you, and advertising or analytics cookies only with your consent through Google’s consent message. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA). You have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to ask us to delete or correct it, and not to be treated differently for using these rights. We do not sell personal information for money. Google’s advertising cookies may count as “sharing” for personalised advertising under California law; you can turn personalised ads off in Google Ads Settings or ask us by email to stop it.

Grievance contact. Ashish K., site owner, support@lovechecker.in (subject “Grievance”), Surat, Gujarat, India. We acknowledge grievances within 2 working days and resolve them within 30 days.

Withdrawing ad consent. If you were shown Google’s consent message, use the Privacy Settings link in the footer at any time. Everyone can turn off personalised ads at Google Ads Settings.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our tools evolve. Any changes will be posted on this page with a refreshed "Last updated" date at the top. We encourage you to review it periodically.
